Mechanism

How the treatment works

Liquid PRF (platelet-rich fibrin) is regarded as the successor to classic PRP therapy. A particular preparation of your own blood yields a concentrate enriched in platelets, white blood cells, stem cells and growth factors.

The fibrin scaffold this creates acts in the tissue like a natural depot, releasing those growth factors into the skin gradually over a longer period. The result is a particularly durable cell renewal and tissue regeneration — suited to delicate areas such as the eye region as much as to fine lines or a lasting firming of the skin.

Because only your own substances are used, the procedure is well tolerated. It can be combined with other treatments such as botulinum toxin or hyaluronic acid fillers.

Procedure

The treatment procedure

After a small blood draw the blood is prepared. We work with a system from Arthrex, a global leader in PRP and PRF systems. The process uses no anticoagulants and no synthetic separator gels, and centrifuges particularly gently in a horizontal position. This yields liquid PRF in an optimised composition, rich in fibrinogen and with the platelet concentration we are aiming for.

It is placed with an injection device (MPGUN) that keeps depth and quantity constant. This distributes the concentrate more evenly than injecting by hand and is more comfortable for most people. The whole face is treated, and the neck as well on request.

A session takes about 45 minutes. For the best results, three to four sessions four weeks apart are recommended: stimulating your own hyaluronic acid and collagen synthesis, cell proliferation and regeneration arrives at the result step by step rather than in one go.

Aftercare

After the treatment

Mild redness and swelling are normal for the first few days. Avoid direct sun exposure and sauna for several days.

Risks and side effects

Redness, swelling, or small bruises at the injection sites are possible. Since the body's own material is used, allergic risk is very low.

Contraindications

Not suitable during pregnancy and breastfeeding, in the presence of infection or inflammatory skin conditions in the treatment area, with coagulation disorders, or with certain blood conditions.

Is PRP/PRF a fully natural procedure?

Yes, only your own body's material is used — no foreign substances are involved.

How many sessions do I need?

Usually three to four sessions four weeks apart. The change builds over weeks because the skin does the work itself — judging right after the first session would be premature.

Can PRP/PRF be combined with medical microneedling?

Yes, and often it makes sense. The medical microneedling opens fine channels through which the plasma reaches the skin across the whole area. We offer this as a treatment in its own right. Which treatment makes most sense for you depends among other things on the skin findings and is discussed in the consultation.

Do you also treat hair with PRP/PRF?

Yes, on the scalp where hair is thinning. The procedure is the same, the aim is different. We carry this out as a treatment in its own right.
